Ozark hybrid highlight Jett Easley didn’t break 200 yards for the first time in the manner he would have dreamed to envision.
“If I were to have predicted, I would have thought it would be receiving rather than rushing,” Easley said in the aftermath of his 235-yard rushing effort at Lebanon on Friday.
He needed just 17 carries to get to 235 yards, one of the best rushing performances by an Ozark player in recent seasons. He needed only 10 minutes of game time to have 149 yards on three first-quarter touchdown runs.
“Gaps opened up and I got those yards,” Easley said.
Easley is a rare combination of elite speed and elite quickness. He values the latter most of all.
“Probably quickness,” he said when asked which of his strengths helps him the most. “I can get to the hole and then juke people out. With top-end speed, I can make it to the end zone.”
