OF THE WEEKS (1/27)

OZARK TIGERS

OZARK | 1/27/2025

Its time again to honor some our awesome athletes, artists and Tigers! This week's 'of the weeks' are athletes Ruben Arvizu, Caden Harrington & Brooke Guyer; artist Sebastian Benedict and Tiger Avery Buening.

Ruben and Caden, members of the boys' wrestling team, had incredible performances in their recent Branson tournament, according to Head Coach Tod Sundlie.

“Ruben and Caden were both champions at the Branson tournament, helping lead their team to the team championship as well," Sundlie said. " They also were both our top finishers at the very tough Winnetonka tournament, taking fourth place each. They have been leaders with their positive attitudes and fantastic efforts through a very difficult part of our schedule"

Brooke is a standout member of the Ozark girls swim & dive team, recently taking home first place in the 200M individual medley. She also helped the team take home first place finishes in 200M Medley Relay and the 400M Free Relay at the Ozark Invite.

Sebastian is a talented and dedicated member of the Ozark High School band program, according to Band Director Tom Meyer.

"Sebastian is a junior trombone player in the OHS bands and Jazz Bands," Meyer said. "Sebastian was first chair in the All-District Concert and Jazz Bands. He also earned a spot on three All-State rosters. He is in the All-State Orchestra but also earned All-State honorable mention distinction in Jazz Trombone and Bass Trombone. He is the first student we have had at Ozark make the All-State list three times in one year. It's a very impressive distinction, especially for a junior! Sebastian is a very hard worker and not only works on his trombone playing but often helps others with their music. He is an A+ Tutor and works closely with the seventh grade low brass class. He is a great kid and a wonderful leader in our program."

Avery is a talented member of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), according to sponsor Matt Fevold.

"Avery is a talented and a dedicated member of FBLA with a bright future ahead of her," Fevold said. "She is a hard working kid, and I look forward to seeing her compete in FBLA this year."

Congrats Ruben, Caden, Brooke, Sebastian & Avery!
