OF THE WEEKS (JAN. 7)

OZARK TIGERS

OZARK | 1/7/2025

Its time again to honor some our awesome athletes, artists and Tigers! This week's 'of the weeks' are athletes Hudson Roberts & Maelynn Sundlie; artists Sam Faught, Ellie Harmon, Asher Lairmore & Sebastian Benedict and Tiger Rylee Nichols.

Hudson has shown incredible resilience and determination throughout the season, according to Boys Basketball Head Coach James Donnelly.

"Hudson has battled back from an appendectomy, and I’ve been very proud of the way he has fought to get back to full strength," Donnelly said. "He has been a great teammate through it all, and I’m looking forward to seeing him play at 100 percent coming out of Christmas break."

Maelynn is a standout wrestler and a key leader for the girls wrestling team, according to Head Coach Tod Sundlie.

"Maelynn was our only top-eight finisher at the KC Stampede and also claimed an individual championship during our team’s title-winning performance at the Lady Viking Tournament this past week," Sundlie said. "She continues to be a key leader for our girls wrestling team."

Sam, Ellie, Asher and Sebastian all were selected for the Missouri All-State band, according to band teacher Katie Ford.

"All-State Band is the highest honor any high school musician can achieve," Ford said. "We are so proud of the hard work these students put in to achieve at this level."

Sam earned All-State Band Honorable Mention on horn, Ellie achieved All-State Band status on oboe for the third consecutive year, Asher secured a spot as lead trumpet in the All-State Jazz Band and received All-State Band Honorable Mention on trumpet, marking his third year with All-State honors, and Sebastian earned All-State Orchestra recognition on trombone, along with All-State Jazz Band Honorable Mentions on both trombone and bass trombone.

Rylee, a dedicated FFA officer, has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, work ethic, and commitment to both her academics and her role in FFA, according to FFA Sponsor Jeremy Sisco.

"Rylee has served as an FFA officer for the past two years, and she works as hard as anyone," Sisco said. "She can always be depended upon to show up and give her best effort. Rylee does all of this while maintaining an outstanding academic record in her other classes. She’s an incredible student who always goes above and beyond, and she is very deserving of this recognition."

Congrats Hudson, Maelynn, Sam, Ellie, Asher, Sebastian & Rylee!
