The Ozark High School boys and girls cross country teams had an impressive fall season, showcasing hard work and dedication throughout each championship event. The boys team finished 4th at the COC and secured 7th place at the Class 5 District 2 championships, capping off a solid season.
The girls team had a standout year, finishing second at the COC and third at the Class 5 District 2 championship, ultimately earning a 13th-place finish at the Class 5 State Championships.
Junior Ellsie Estes led the girls team with a series of impressive achievements: she was named First Team All-Conference and was the individual conference champion, set a school record with a 5K time of 18:18.45 (surpassing the previous record of 18:21.83 set by Alexis Barber in 2018), and earned All-District, First Team All-Southwest Region, and All-State honors with her 15th-place individual finish at state. Teammates Sydney Lister and Laine Garner also made significant contributions to the team’s success, with both receiving All-Conference, All-District, and All-Southwest Region honors.
It was a season filled with remarkable accomplishments for the Ozark cross country teams, as they represented their school with pride and set new records for future Tigers to aim for. Congratulations to all the athletes on a memorable season!
