Its time again to honor some our awesome athletes, artists and Tigers! This week's 'of the weeks' are athletes Olivia Carpenter & Christian Kropf; artist Kenzy Gammon and Tiger Shelby Middleton.
Olivia is a member of the varsity girls tennis team and has been a key player for the team the past few seasons, according to head coach Mark McBain.
"Olivia has been our top-ranked player for the last two seasons," McBain said. "Last week she won two of her three singles matches, and all her doubles matches. The coaches and the team view her as a senior leader. In addition to her hard work on the tennis courts, she spends her Saturdays competing at events for Ozark's cross country team."

Christian is one of the captains of the boys swim and dive team and recently placed sixth overall in the 500-yard freestyle and eighth in the 200-yard individual medley at the team's first meet of the season. When talking about the upcoming season, Christian said he and the team had some goals.
"First and foremost we want to go to state, but more than that we want to become better swimmers and better students," he said.

Kenzy is a part of the color guard team and is an important leader on and off the field, according to color guard director Theresa Walls.
"Kenzy is a key part in both of our main rifle and main saber lines," Walls said. "The directors have been so impressed with her attitude on and off the field. She is a true team player, working hard to achieve her goals and supporting her teammates along the way. I can't wait to see her start the competition season in a few weeks."

Shelby serves Ozark High School as student body vice president and has helped lead to school spirit being at an all-time high, according to StuCo sponsor Betsy Rice.
"The start of this school year has begun and OHS school spirit is at an all-time high," Rice said. "It takes the ideas of all of our student council members to establish a plan for the semester and then the task of organizing each event really begins. Shelby is a strong leader and works diligently with others to carry out these school activities. She works well with the administrators, teachers, and students to create positive school spirit."
Shelby said she originally was nervous to take on the role as VP, but has ended up loving it.
"Originally, I didn’t want to take on this role, but after a lot of critical thinking and convincing I did and I couldn’t be more happy about it," she said. "Despite all the work that goes unseen and piles of stress, in the end it’s all worth it. It’s rewarding to watch as an idea that was once in my head finally become a reality, and on top of that, it’s successful! I’m learning a lot about leadership, others, and myself in my role of Student Body VP, and I consider myself blessed to experience it all."
Congrats Olivia, Christian, Kenzy and Shelby!!
A special thank you to the sponsor of our Athletes of the Week: Guaranty Bank!
