The Pride of the Ozarks Marching Band started their competition season off with a bang taking home the Grand Champion Prize from the Valhalla Marching Competition hosted by Parkview High School in Springfield. The band also won awards for Outstanding Soloist (Jakob Nickel - Flute) and Outstanding Color Guard. Earlier in the day, the band took second to Neosho in prelim competition, only loosing by .050 while also picking up awards for Outstanding Soloist (Truman Griessel - Alto Sax) and Outstanding Color Guard.
