OZARK TIGERS

Ozark School District | 8/29/2023

Help us congratulate Zack Owens on being named the new girls soccer head coach! The Board of Education approved Owens' extra duty assignment on Aug. 22, which is effective for the 2023-2024 school year.

Owens is currently the head coach of the Ozark boys soccer team and has been since 2020.

"Building character and empowering student-athletes on and off the field has been a driving force of mine in the boys' program, and I am proud to have the opportunity to do the same with the girls' program," Owens said. "We will not only strive for victories but also cultivate teamwork, resilience and the unwavering belief that success is built through dedication and unity."

He is a lifelong Tiger, playing soccer for and graduating from Ozark High School in 2002. He also teaches seventh-grade P.E./weights at Ozark Junior High School.

"I have grown up an Ozark Tiger, and I plan to live my life, always, as a proud Ozark Tiger," Owens said. "I want to be able to grow the sport I love in the community that helped raise and mold me into who I am. This town and school have given me so much, and this is a way to pay it back and forward."

Owens played soccer and tennis at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri. He also holds a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Lindenwood University.
