Ozark Marching Band enters the season with goals of being both competitive on the field and entertaining for audiences throughout the fall.

Band Director Tom Meyer said the Tigers want to advance to finals at every competition they attend while also creating a show students enjoy performing.

“We want to make it to finals at every show we attend, and besides being competitive, we want the show to be entertaining for patrons to watch and fun for students to perform,” Meyer said.

Leadership will be important throughout the entire ensemble this season. With every student playing an important role in the performance, Meyer said success depends on the full group working together.

“Since every student starts varsity for us, they are all leaders and important to our success,” Meyer said.

The band will also look to its four drum majors , Emily Stine, Hunter Burnett, Jozlyn Metzger and Liam O’Connor, to help lead the ensemble.

“The drum majors are very important because they conduct the ensemble,” Meyer said.

Section leaders will also play a key role throughout the season, helping keep rehearsals organized and supporting students both on and off the field.

“Every section leader does an important job of keeping things organized and helping students both inside and out of rehearsals,” Meyer said.

With leadership throughout the ensemble and a focus on both competition and entertainment, Ozark Marching Band is looking forward to another exciting season of performances.
