BRANSON — Ian Soto has quickly progressed from a novice on the tennis court to a doubles champion.

Soto and teammate Ben Romano completed a sweep of their four matches while capturing the No. 3 flight championship at the Branson Doubles Tournament on Friday.

Soto is one of SWMO’s premier soccer players, but this is foray in tennis. He has taken to swinging with a racquet naturally.

“I love it. It’s been a fun experience so far,” Soto said. “One of my teachers who is our assistant tennis coach told me I should try tennis.”

Soto has discovered his quick feet that help him in soccer also are a plus in tennis.

“My coach says I have some of the best feet on the team because I play soccer,” he said.

Soto and Romano proved to be a perfect pairing. They played together for the first time Friday and there was no arguing their results.
