Ozark defender Simon Yates has embraced the chance to add forward to his profile and play at both ends of the field, much like former Tiger Wyatt Trobaugh did the past couple of years.

“Wyatt was very good playing forward and back,” Yates said, “I feel like now our coaches trust me a lot up top and also trust me in the back. (Coach Zack Owens) has said I can go forward because I can play forward just as well. It’s a very big confidence boost.”

With Ozark (6-1) at home against Republic (1-8) tonight, Yates is tied for the Tigers’ lead in scoring with four goals, to go along with a pair of assists.
