Carson Sandgren posted the 25th shutout of his career as part of Ozark’s 2-0 triumph against Republic on Tuesday.
Reflecting on his three-year run as Ozarks starting goalkeeper, Sandgren couldn’t have guessed when he made his first start as a sophomore he eventually would reach such a milestone.
“I would have been surprised,” Sandgren said when asked what he would have thought of his chances of reaching 25 shutouts at the start of his varsity career. “Getting to play my sophomore year was special and I've been lucky to have the teams around me I have. So, actually if someone would have told me I'd be lucky enough to play with the boys I have, I think (25 shutouts) would have been a little less surprising to me.”
