Lucy Roark took notice of Ozark’s game program from the Lady Tigers’ home-opener earlier this week listing her as an outside hitter.
“That's definitely not right,” she said. “For (middle) school, I did play outside a little bit, so I think that's where that came from.”
Roark is s full-fledged setter and in fact Ozark’s starting setter as a freshman. She debuted in front of the home fans by dishing out 26 assists in Ozark’s sweep of Rogersville.
Roark’s varsity career is tipping off earlier than she expected.
“A lot earlier,” she said. “League (play in the summer) really did it for me. Summer was where (coach Adeana Chrestman) got to see me. I went out and played my hardest and she saw something in me and has continued to push me. I've been trying my hardest since then to keep my spot.
