Its time again to honor some our awesome athletes, artists and Tigers! This week's 'of the weeks' are athletes Rory Banks & Brooke Bowman; artist Kyle Miller; and Tiger Brooke Guyer.
Rory is a standout member of the OHS Track and Field team and is recognized not only for his talent but also for his work ethic and attitude, according to Assistant Coach Lander.
“Rory is a very hard worker,” said Coach Lander. “He comes to practice every day with a positive attitude and a determination to improve. I'm looking forward to seeing what he accomplishes in the next few weeks as we head toward state.”
For Rory, track is more than just a sport—it's a personal journey.
“Track gives me the ability to compete and focus on the small details that help me improve,” he said. “I love putting full effort into my training and seeing that hard work show up in competition. It also helps strengthen the bond with my teammates, and even with the people I compete against.”

A standout on the girls track and field team, Brooke has made an impressive impact in her first season, according to Head Coach Shawn Widel.
“Brooke came into her freshman year with a strong track record and high expectations,” Widel said. “She has continued that success all season, most recently scoring 16.5 points, becoming a two-time COC Champion, and helping the girls team win the overall conference title. We’re excited to see what the rest of the season holds for her.”
Brooke says her passion for track runs deep especially when it comes to competing on the track.
“I run not just to win, but to test my limits,” she said. “It’s where I feel alive and happy. It’s not about beating others; it’s about proving I’m better than I was yesterday.”

Kyle is recognized as one of OHS’s many talented artists, according to art teacher Lindsay Johnson.
"I have really enjoyed having Kyle in class this year," Johnson said. "He is an excellent artist and always goes above and beyond on his projects and assignments. He is fully engaged in learning and consistently asks thoughtful questions to deepen his understanding of challenging concepts."

Brooke is recognized as one of Ozark's talented culinary students, according to culinary teacher Chef Laurent Watts.
"Brooke is perfect for the hospitality industry!" Watts said. "Her personality is exactly what is needed to become an event planner—outgoing, happy, fun-loving, and all-around positive."
